If you hit the sports betting boards in Las Vegas today, there's one fight people will be putting their money on: the WBO welterweight match between Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. While the two stand on opposing sides of the boxing ring, both boxers share one thing in common: They both conquered Manny Pacquiao last year.
It only makes sense that Bradley (30-0, 12 KO) and Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO) are going head-to-head today. While Marquez is not the youngest player in the ring at the age of 40, he's still favored to beat the 10-years-his-junior Bradley. For Bradley, the fight is a chance to shut up the haters that surfaced after the controversial outcome of his Pacquiao fight, or at least the ones he didn't win over after his victory with Ruslan Provodnikov earlier this year.
Yesterday, Bradley weighed in 146lbs, while Marquez steadied at 144½ lbs. Will the 1.5 difference make a difference? Likely not, but everyone will know after 36 minutes, if there's no TKO. We wonder who Manny Pacquiao is putting his money on.
Watch the fight on HBO pay-per-view tonight (Oct. 12) at 9:00PM ET.
