Tracy Morgan's Emmys Prank Sparks 25,000 Tweets

It may actually be hard to conceive this, but Jimmy Kimmel's prank last night with Tracy Morgan at the Emmy Awards actually worked!

Kimmel, who was hosting the festivities, teamed up with the 30 Rock star to try and fool Twitter into believing Morgan, 43, had passed out on stage. The Jimmy Kimmel Live host told viewers to tweet, "OMG, Tracy Morgan just passed out on stage at the Emmys, turn ABC on now!" And surprisingly, it worked!!!!

To get Twitter users totally fooled and believing the prank, Kimmel had Morgan lie down on stage. "Okay, hold my nunchunks," Morgan told the host while taking actual nunchunks out of his sparkly tuxedo coat before sprawling out on the floor. "Just lie there for about 10 minutes or so, and when people tune in they'll see this on the stage," Kimmel explained.

The comedians fooled the Twitterverse to the tune of 25,000 instantaneous, real-time tweets armed with the hashtag "OMG Tracy Morgan Emmys," announced by Twitter TV.
