After finishing filming, one of the drivers of the interactive game show Cash Cab ran over a 61-year-old Surrey man.
Shortly after being taken to the hospital, the man died.
The accident took place in Vancouver, where the Canadian version of Cash Cab is filmed, in the 200-block of East Cordova Street. The man driving a car, whose name has not been released, was a technical staff member on the show. President of Castlewood Production, which films Cash Cab, Andrew Burnstein reached out to the victim and said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his friends and his family.”
Burnstein goes on to say that, “My heart also goes out to the driver of the vehicle, a member of our technical staff, who is shaken and devastated by this tragic accident, and our entire time.”
No charges have been filed at this moment in time and the identity of the victim has not been released, but our prayers go out the man’s family and friends. -- Jackie Sather
