This based on a true story look at The Iceman looks like it'll be a roller coaster ride!
Millennials not old enough to remember when HBO aired startling documentaries might've missed The Iceman Tapes, yet this trailer detailing the life of contract killer Richard Kuklinski looks pretty spectacular.
The Iceman places cinephiles in the seat of the hired gun all the way from the late '60s to the early '80s, as Michael Shannon plays the intense, conflicted killer with a rolling sea of emotions. The man who will be playing General Zod in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel will also get an opportunity to experiment with all sorts of zany facial hair combinations. The first trailer from The Iceman, which you can see for yourself below, boasts a great cast and a detailed production that reveals a taste of the late 20th Century in all it's mutton-chopped glory.
Starring alongside Michael Shannon as the titular character are Chris Evans, Ray Liotta, James Franco, Winona Ryder, Stephen Dorff, Robert Davi and David Schwimmer. The last two are probably in the film long enough for Shannon to shoot them both in the head, which you can also see a lot of in this trailer. It's kind of wickedly awesome if you ask us. The real-life Richard Kuklinski racked up a death toll of more than 250 people between the years of 1954 and 1985, before he was finally captured and convicted.
The Iceman doesn't have a distribution deal as of yet, but it's already scheduled to play Telluride, Venice, and Toronto in the upcoming weeks. So, if it is half as cool as it looks, chances are we'll be hearing about a proper release date soon.
