The first teaser trailer for the biopic drama, Diana, starring Naomi Watts as the late Princess Diana, has been released to the World Wide Web.
Entertainment One has released a U.S. teaser trailer for the film, which is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, and finds Watts' playing the late royal during her final moments. The teaser trailer finds the 44-year-old star sporting teased, short blonde hair as she recreates several scenes from the life of the Princess of Wales, mother of the UK's Prince William and Prince Harry.
Naveen Andrews will play Dr. Hasnat Khan, the Pakistani heart surgeon Diana dated before meeting Dodi Fayed. The film was considered a hot property in Cannes last month where eOne made the acquisition for the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada and Spain.
There are a few scenes showing Watts doing charity work abroad, walking the red carpet, greeting fans and earning her distinction as the "People's Princess". You can see the clip for yourself below:
The 36-year-old member of the Royal Family died with her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed in a fatal car accident in Paris in 1997. Diana opens in the United Kingdom during a fall release.
