Travie McCoy (That's Right, Travie) Gets Solo Release Date

Travie McCoy (That's Right, Travie) Gets Solo Release Date

Posted March 8, 2010

Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy—who’s now going by the name Travie McCoy for his solo project—has pegged a June 8 release date for his debut, Lazarus.

Led by the single, “Billionaire,” featuring Bruno Mars (the video for which debuts today), the album features production from T-Pain, Bruno Mars and The Stereotypes (Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige), among others.

McCoy told MTV News recently, “With any project, I just go in and blindly start writing songs and then find out which way we want to go with it. This one took a bit longer to find the lane… The songs will appeal to a broader range of people as opposed to the hip-hop crowd or conventional GCH crowd.”

In addition to performing at this year’s South By Southwest festival in Austin next week, McCoy will also be heading out on his first solo tour with Cobra Starship and 3OH!3.

The Too Fast For Love outing kicks off April 28 at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee and runs through June, with stops in 29 cities, including Detroit, Boston and San Diego.

A track list for Lazarus will be announced on McCoy’s official Web site. See tour dates below. --Clover Hope
