Since leaving the pop group NLT (Not Like Them,) Travis Garland has been unstoppable. In 2013, Garland dropped his self-titled album and an EP Fashionably Late II, which showed the world he was no longer a fresh-faced teenybopper.
His “Rocket/Pusher Love Girl” mash-up is no different, offering up a soulful subtlety reminiscent of D’Angelo and Robin Thicke. The beat box accompaniment only magnifies Garland’s appeal. Just like his other covers, this one is sure to garner millions of hits.
We can expect to hear a follow-up to his debut album in late 2014. Let’s hope he stays in this lane and give us more smooth bangers that we can rock to.
