Trey Songz Brings Out Trinidad James, Fabolous and Young Jeezy For NYC Show

Trigga, Tremaine and Mr. Steal Yo' Girl are all aliases frequently used to summon Trey Songz, the R&B heartthrob whose fame began with his 2005 single, "Gotta Make It." Last night (Dec. 5), in front of a sea hundreds-deep in shrieking teens and 20-something women at the WaMu Theatre at Madison Square Garden, it was clear that Trey has reached another plateau in his career.

With his opening acts (both Grammy-nominated during the official telecast occurring at the same time of the concert) Elle Varner and Miguel setting off the evening with high-energy performances, the mood was just right when a studded leather jacket-clad Songz emerged from behind draping purple curtains. For those who have never witnessed the Trey Songz experience before, his set is a a heady mix of mainstream favorites ("I Need A Girl," "I Invented Sex") and instant aphrodisiacs ("Panty Wetter," "Love Faces"). Regardless of the tempo, the dimpled crooner will work a crowd like a lapdancer on a pair of legs.

Trey performed at the same venue in November of last year, bringing the "Finally Famous" rookie Big Sean as his opener. This year, fans anticipated big-name cameos given the MCs that streak the Chapter V's star-studded catalog. What many did not expect was a surprise appearance from ATL MC Trinidad James, who had just shut down a show at NYC's Santos the previous night. Trey let the grill-faced rapper, donning his signature red bandana, take center stage to perform his opulent single, "All Gold Everything."

The guests kept on flowing like Grey Goose at the VIP lounge as Fabolous made a repeat appearance alongside Trey for "Say Ahh." To keep the momentum of the rather turnt up crowd, Young Jeezy parked his Hulkish frame in the spotlight for a live rendition of "Hail Mary." After his boys had exited the stage, Songz took off his shirt to reveal a six pack that left the ladies salivating. He also plucked a special woman from the crowd to make her wet dreams come true, clasping his chain around her neck before planting a big smooch on her cheek. He proceeded to close strong with a T.I.-less "2 Reasons."

Even at the top of the stairs of his illuminated set, Trey proves that a set of pipes and debonaire looks equate success, so much that it's landed him a role in the 2013 thriller "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D" and a special cocktail in partnership with Grey Goose called Trey Noir (Cherry Noir, Sprite and Cranberry juice). The only direction Songbooks can go is up.
