Lady Gaga, Will Smith, and Will.i.Am a have all done it.
And now Trey Songz is following suit. In partnership with OurTime.org, a non-profit organization that makes it easier for the new generation of voters to sign up and participate in this November's election, the R&B singer discusses why it's important to cast a ballot.
"Well I've voted since I've been eligible," Songz recalls. "My mother was always adamant about it. When I was young, I didn't understand why 'cause I didn't see that effect in my world."
The "Dive" singer says it's this mentality that may be stopping young voters from becoming politically aware but says there is power in voting: "There is power in politics, there is power in your voice whether you're voting or getting out and going out for the betterment of yourself and the betterment of everybody else."
