Turk Sends Message to His Brother’s Killer

Hot Boys rapper Turk is now opening up about the recent murder of his 23-year-old brother Ronald Smith.

Smith was found dead with several gunshot wounds on a New Orleans street Monday. A 19-year-old male name Travis Dennis was taken into police custody where he admitted to the killing.

“They are only charging him with 2nd degree murder, which I don’t understand,” Turk told Ozone Magazine yesterday from prison. He is currently serving 12-years after being convicted of shooting a Tennessee police officer in 2004.

Turk says that regardless of the charges, he forgives the gunman. “I want the suspect to know that I forgive him. I have no ill will towards him. I don’t want to speculate about what happened or why he did what he did. When it’s your time to go, it’s your time to go. I pray that everything will work out.”

According to Turk, his brother was an “up-and-coming” rapper who went by the name Magnolia Rilo. At the time of his death, he was working on a mixtape called Life Without Warning. —Linda Hobbs
