Earlier this year, Nick Cannon was hospitalized for mild kidney failure but was released a few days later. However, that visit was most likely the start of more hospital visits. According to The Jasmine Brand, Cannon revealed on his radio show 92.3 Now FM yesterday that he was back at the hospital last week with two blood clots and an enlarged right ventricle.
“It was quite serious. I was trying to downplay it a lot, even in my own mind," said the 31-year-old entertainer. "I travel a lot. Anyone who flies a lot can be a victim to getting blood clots because it can start in your legs or your lower back. That, on top of my previous condition made me more prone to it.”
Cannon added that the doctor recommended more rest.
“My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me — and he’s not joking. I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn’t resting a lot and I was doing too much. I was overworking myself, working out too much. I always took pride in working so hard and never taking a day off. But i’m learning that it isn’t the wisest thing all the time, especially being a new father. Not only wanting to spend more time with my children, but wanting to be there for my children.”
Cannon juggles multiple jobs. He's the chairman of TeenNick, runs his own record label, produces TV, hosts America's Got Talent, has his radio show and he's the father of twins. He also wants to add a new movie, which he describes as today's version of House Party, to his to do list.
We side with the doctor on this one, get some rest, Nick. If not for yourself, then at least think about "dem babies" and your wife. Get well soon.
