2012 is shaping up to be another big year for Tyler Perry. In addition to his new films, Good Deeds and I, Alex Cross, the noted actor/director/playwright/screenwriter/producer also just started filming The Marriage Counselor, a movie based on his 2008 play of the same name. In Marriage Counselor, Jurnee Smollett plays the role of a marriage counselor who is looking for love in all of the wrong places. Kim Kardashian plays Ava, the marriage counselor's co-worker who provides her with strength and stability throughout the film. And Andrea Moore also co-stars.
Although details about the actual film are still few and far between, we do know that it's currently being shot down in Atlanta and that it'll be out in theaters sometime in 2012. Can Smollett—the star of NBC's hit drama, Friday Night Lights—hold down her first major starring role in a Tyler Perry film? Can Kardashian step onto the silver screen and wow audiences? Can Perry recreate the magic that he's created on so many of his other films? We sure think so. And we can't wait to see how it all plays out.
