A U.S. Marshal was arrested for disclosing the identity of an undercover agent, in a drug scandal that is a black eye for the government agency.
The deputy U.S. Marshal arrested is Lucio Osbaldo Moya, and Politico says he disclosed the name of an undercover agent to his father, who is allegedly part of a drug trafficking organization. Moya's father is accused of passing Moya a photocopied driver's license belonging to an undercover agent. The undercover had been hired to drive truckloads of marijuana through Texas, and Moya's father was trying to determine the true identity of the undercover.
Moya claims he was hoping to turn his father into a paid confidential informant. After the U.S. Marshal was arrested, his hearing took place Tuesday.
