V Exclusive: Tiny Talks T.I. Homecoming, Wedding Plans: ‘I’m In Love All Over Again’
Now that T.I. is out of prison, he’s starting to get his career and family back in order. He’s already released a comeback record, along with details of his forthcoming album, due August 24, but what about his wife to be?
While the Atlanta rapper is currently serving his final days of incarceration in a halfway house, his official completion date of March 26 is fast approaching. His fiancée and mother of his two sons, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, told VIBE that since his release from prison in late December it’s been a relief having him closer to being home for good.
“It was crazy. I seen him every week,” said Tiny over the phone from Atlanta. “We just picked up where we left off and we just, you know, I’m just in love all over again.”
T.I.’s first public appearance following his release was at an Alzheimer’s fundraiser with Tiny, whose father struggles with the disease.
Addressing rumors that the pair will get hitched this summer, the former Xscape singer revealed that a wedding is indeed on the agenda. T.I. reportedly bought Tiny a ring while he was still locked up.
“There are wedding plans coming soon, sometime this year,” said Tiny, adding that there’s no rush and that she wants it to be a small affair with about 200 guests. “Not too big ’cause I want it to be as private as possible. There’ve been a million rumors about us getting married. It’s taking away from the day that we really do get married so I just want to kind of have that moment for myself.”
Tiny also said she doesn’t bother with the chatter that the nuptials are taking too long.
“I don’t really worry about what people say about what’s taking so long. Like, it ain’t none of your business what’s taking so long,” said Tiny of the engagement. “If we happy, why are you so concerned? We living, we’re happy, we’re in love. I mean, it’s no doubt in my mind that he doesn’t love every piece of me and vice versa so we’re just doing what’s comfortable and what works for us. Tiny and T.I.: Not for the world. When we get ready to make a move, we will make it. We just can’t do it for everybody.”
T.I. and Tiny have been together for almost 10 years now. After Tiny had a miscarriage in 2007, the couple reportedly broke off their engagement but later rekindled their love and T.I. proposed soon after. They had their second child, Major Harris, in 2008.
Tiny is currently gearing up for season two of the top-rated BET reality series, Tiny & Toya, which premieres on April 6. Ironically, the show's other half, Toya, is now dealing with her ex-husband and baby's father, Lil Wayne, being behind bars. —Clover Hope
