Tyga is hip-hop's new jack of all trades. He's got film roles in the bag (both an in-the-works drama and porn,) his dope Last Kings fashion line unveiled this week at Las Vegas's MAGIC trade show, and will drop his next studio album, Hotel California, this month ... hopefully.
T-Raww postponed the release of his Eagles-inspired LP and sat down with VIBE to talk about it. No, he didn't push it back because he's hitting the studio with the rock legends, or anything like that. While the album bears the same name as the California rock band's 1976 seminal album, it's mostly inspired by '90s hip-hop tracks and samples.
Tyga also dished some juicy info on Fan of a Fan 2, aka his second joint album with Chris Brown, and another Young Money album. The Lil Wayne-helmed posse last released We Are Young Money in 2009, which featured the radio hit "Bedrock" that was instrumental in turning Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga into household names.
"We're suppose to be working on a new Young Money album, so we'll see how that goes..." he says of where the project is at the moment.
"My next single, that I'm dropping in a week or two, is called "For the Road," and it's me and Chris," he says of what's up next. "We haven't done anything in a minute. We've been working on Fan of a Fan 2, but this is the first record that people are going to hear that they're really going to be excited for. It has a 'Deuces' feel to it, and it's real, and it's definitely going to be a hit."
Hotel California drops April 9.
