V Exclusive: Yung Berg [Pg 2.]
Okay I guess we believe you [laughs], plus you do shout out Wiz and Taylor Gang in the song…
And the crazy thing is Wiz has been my peoples for at least four years now. I kind of was like “Yo should I ask?” and I know how Wiz is and I did that song so long ago and it’s just coincidence that they had a situation but I know Wiz is a real easy going person and he’s not sweating it and I’m not sweating it either.
Your tracklisting also show’s a record called “After The Club” with Ray J, is that in the “Sexy Can I” vein?
It’s really not like anything you heard Ray-J on before –the beat is so 2011, so in the future. The beat is so out of here and it’s a club record.
Oh boy, does that mean it’s fist pump friendly?
[Laughs] It’s like a happy medium between Urban and Euro-Pop. Me and Ray went in there and worganically did the record. It happened real fast and I left LA, because we did it around All-Star weekend time, and I came back to Miami and I put the final touches on it.
Do you think this record can be as big as you guys’ first collab?
Nah, this is just one of those records that I would want to put out there to test the waters. I actually have a record called “Sexy Can I Pt. 2″ that’s on my album.
So it’s literally titled “Sexy Can I Part 2″?
When can we expect to hear that?
Fall. We’re shooting a video in the summertime. The record features me, Ray-J and Sean Kingston. So it’s a real big movie. It’s literally “Sexy Can I pt 2.” It’s produced by Detail –the same producer who produced “Sexy Can I.” It’s me and Ray going back and forth all over again. It’s the same type of tempo, same type of record, same type of chant just in a 2011 form.
Okay so we gotta ask, are you still comfortable rocking flashy jewelry?
On some real shit back in the day when I was buying those big ass chains and shit, I felt like that was a part of me being Yung Berg. But me growing up and being Christian, being Mr. Ward, and who I really I am, I toned down. I’m not going to be with the big gaudy chains because people would look and they would say “Well, this nigga still ain’t learn his lesson.” I learned my lesson. I’m going to have jewelry but it’s going to be more upscale and common. It’s not going to be catching just the nigga eye.
It also seems like face tatts catch that type of. You actually have a few, do you think you’d get some more?
