VIBE’s Daily Additions to the ‘Pod

1. Cory Gunz – “Stacks On Deck”
Even for a mixtape track, this song isn’t bringing us anything worth talking about. From the too-repetitive chorus to that once again overused instrumental, this isn’t the best way to make a comeback on the scene.

2. Miguel – “Use Me”
Miguel is a beast at making his voice mesh perfectly with the beat, almost like he was born to do this. With addition to the recently released video for “Adorn,” Miguel is definitely on the right track. No sophomore slumps here.

3. Jackie Chain – Bruce Lean Chronicles [Mixtape]
This latest project from Alabama native Jackie Chain definitely shows off his southern roots. Even though a lot of the tracks share similar beats, and therefore tends to sound somewhat generic, theres no denying J-Chain can hold his own lyrically. Standout track include the dirty south low-rider influenced “Parked Outside” with Big K.R.I.T. & Bun B, “26 Inches,” and “Other Shit.”

4. Shyne – “King Crown Of Judah”
Is it just us, or does Shyne sound waaay different than what we remember from the early 2000s? Did Lil’ Kim have a point on “Notorious K.I.M.” when she claimed he jacked Biggie’s cadence? Voice issues aside, the song isn’t half bad—if you can get past the gibberish-sounding chorus.

5. Los (feat. Paypa) – “I Don’t Fuck Wit That”
We can get hip with this beat. Even if Chief Keef beat them to the punch with the overall subject matter of the song, this one is pretty dope.
