VIBE’s Daily Additions to the ‘Pod

1. Glasses Malone (feat. Ty $ & C Ballin) – “That Good”
We could do without the Auto-Tune shit, but this one falls in line with the best-of Too $hort and “Oochie Wally”—yeah, it’s one of those songs.

2. Trey Songz (feat. T.I.) – “2 Reasons”
The vibe on this track is a little bit too similar to “Say Aah.” Eh..

3. Voli (feat. J. Cole) – “Sound Of Love”
There’s hints of rock, R&B, and hip-hop mixed together here. You can hear the Roots inspiration all throughout this one.

4. Lloyd Banks (feat. Vado) – “We Run The Town”
Banks and Vado trade verses well on this “i-run-my-city” anthem. We’ll let y’all decide who has he best bars though.

5. Pac Div – “Automatic”
It’s about time we heard some fresh shit from Pac Div. This fits in well with their mixtape stuff, so fans won’t be disappointed.

6. Joey Bada$$ – “1999” [Mixtape]
Fans of 90s hip-hop (which pretty much makes all of us) will be grateful for what Joey brings on this mixtape. There’s Dilla and Lord Finesse produced tracks, beats that make you feel like you’re in the middle of the greatest hip-hop era known to man, and just crazy talent bar for bar. Standouts include “Waves,” “Funky Ho,” “Snakes,” and “Killuminati.” Definitely don’t sleep on this one.

7. Troy Ave – “Bricks In My Backpack 3: The Harry Powder Trilogy” [Mixtape]
For the most part, Troy Ave’s mixtape is a good effort. His rap style is properly represented on this project, setting him apart from other mixtape rappers. The problem comes in toward the ending, where the production starts to get a little repetitive. The slowed-down vibe on “Snow,” Action Bronson-assisted “Wheelin’ & Dealin'” and lead single “CokeAmania” are standout tracks.

8. Honors English – “Colder” (Theraflu Freestyle)
Is Honors taking up Ye’s offer to “do it better than me”? We’ll let you judge, but Honors goes in on this one!
