VIBE’s Daily Additions to the ‘Pod

1. Mariah Carey (feat. Rick Ross & Meek Mill) – “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)”
MC dropped this hip-hop soul banger just minutes ago, and we’re already expecting it to be a hit. Mariah definitely didn’t failed us with this much-hyped track. It’s only fitting that Ross & Meek blessed this with hot verses, being that it’s Maybach Music Week at VIBE and all.

2. A$AP Rocky – Pumped Up Kicks
His voice sounds horrible on this, but being that it’s an impromptu Foster The People cover he get’s a slight pass. We sensed some potential harmony going on though—with LOTS of vocal training.

3. Sir Michael Rocks – Lap Of Lux [Mixtape]
Mikey Rocks has a knack for great production. This tape proves that perfectly, offering up progressively fresh beats and cleverly placed samples—just check for that Lana Del Rey on “Now You Do.” There’s a lot of great material to choose from on here, but standouts include the aforementioned opener “Now You Do, “Great” with Casey Veggies & Mac Miller, and the easy cruiser anthem “If It Ain’t Foreign.” Simply put, this is a great mixtape to top your summer off with.

4. Domo Genesis (feat. Freddie Gibbs & Prodigy) – “Till The Angels Come”
Whether laying back or smoking something nice, this is the perfect mood music. The beat is just too chill for words.

5. Busta Rhymes (feat. Reek Da Villian & Chanel) – “Doin It Again”
Some of y’all are probably too young to place the beat sampled on this (Jonell’s “Round & Round” featuring Method Man off the How High soundtrack. Now you know.), but it still doesn;t take away from how dope this is. Everyone on record does the beat justice with their verses.
