VIBE's Daily Additions to the 'Pod
1. Ne-Yo (feat. Wiz Khalifa) – "Don't Make Em Like You"
Ne-Yo serves up his essential contemporary R&B feel that we remember from past tracks like "Stay" & "Can We Chill." This one should definitely blow up on the radio—especially with the impressive verse from Sir Wiz.
2. Jim Jones (feat. Game) – "Cops & Rappers"
While there's nothing too astounding about this overused beat, the fact that these two are on wax together is interesting enough in its own right. It's definitely worth a listen.
3. Sterling Simms (feat. 2 Chainz, Tyga & Travis Porter) – "Make You Somebody"
The Players Club sample took us back for a minute, so we have to give credit for the proper placement on that little detail. As far as the song is concerned, you'll definitely find yourself swaying with one hand up & both eyes closed. That is, until you hear the repetition of, "Let me call you my bitch." Feminist-types should have fun with that one for sure.
4. Cee-Lo Green – "Silent Night"
Christmas came a little early with this cut, but it really reminds us that Cee-Lo has some serious pipes on him. He definitely should get more respect as a vocalist.
5. Adrian Marcel - "5 Minutes (Love You Down)"
Marcel has a pretty impressive voice. "5 Minutes" was just enough to get us intrigued. Good effort.
6. Theo Martins - "Balloons"
"Balloons" isn't a bad record, but dude should rap more and harmonize less. As an artist, you go through phases where you're trying to find your voice, so we won't hold this one against him too much.
