These days, footwear design collaborations are the celebrity perfume endorsement of the '90s and the exercise video of the '80s.
In a collaboration that actually has legs, celebrity DJ Mark Ronson teamed up with head Gucci designer Frida Giannini to create a set of limited edition kicks for the Gucci Icon-Temporary line.
The collection is part of a taste-makers initiative that will be sold in pop-up stores in the world's most elite locations--a week during Art Baisil in Miami, a SoHo spot and then appearing in London, Berlin and Tokyo.
The full line has just been revealed, with styles ranging from a quirky boat shoe hybrid to a high top green and white sneaker. Each shoe comes with a Gucci dog tag and can be customized with the customer's initials on the leather shoelace insignia.
The New York store opens to the public on October 24th and will stay for two weeks in the city before it's on to the next one. --Adrien Field
