V Style: Recession Chic
With 2009 rolling to its end and the recession hopefully following along with it into the history books, a souvenir from the time that we all feared for the worst might prove a stable investment in the years to come. During the past year, designers have taken the economy as a jumping off point to create statement clothing and accessory items, everything from the literal (like this tote bag) to the abstract, like tattered Derelict-style clothes from Zoolander. Just as yesteryear's moonshine flask from the depression is now worth serious cash, these products might one day prove their weight in gold. --Adrien Field
