When movie-inspired fashion collections are mentioned, usually gothic capes and plastic wands come to mind. But Spike Jonze's collaboration with New York boutique Opening Ceremony for kiddie flick Where the Wild Things Are goes beyond the Harry-Potter-rabid-fan costumes to include some legit clothing and accessories for real people.
The collection, which hits Opening Ceremony Monday (September 28), features faux-fur jackets for men and women, along with silver and brass jewelry designed by Pamela Love. The women's furry coat--with its hirsute skirt, sleeves and shawl--makes a fashionable statement. Similarly, the faux-fur lined jacket for men is classic enough to rock without feeling like a team mascot.
But not all things Wild are wildly fashionable. The only acceptable habitat for the collection's raccoon-tail-wagging onesies is a Patrón-fueled Halloween party. --Adrien Field
