It’s no surprise that Big K.R.I.T. won the crowd over with his latest mixtape, King Remembered In Time.
Aside from a selection that’s got heavy bass and car play for days, Krit also has some big name features. Wiz Khalifa, Trinidad Jame$ and Bun B are all noteworthy guests on the project, but one particular collaboration stands out from the rest— his snippet with ATL’s favorite auto-tune crooner, Future. “Just Last Week,” which clocks in at a 1:41, has folks wondering if there will be a full version of the song somewhere in the distant future (no pun intended). Luckily for them, they won’t have to wait much longer. KRIT cleared the air about what will become of the short sample.
“Oh yeah, ‘Just Last Week’ is a whole song,” he tells VIBE. “It’s going to probably be the next single we drop. I just had to give people a little taste of it though. Shout out to Future for being on the record.” He's pretty confident that the bounce-inducing track will become a party pick. “It’s a turn up record and a feel good song, too. It’s good that people see that I’m still in my element, but was able to make something where Future could do his thing, I was able to do mine and it meshed well together.”
If you haven't heard it already, head over to DatPiff to give it a listen and stay tuned to VIBE for more updates on his forthcoming album. --Stacy-Ann Ellis
