VIBE Gives Back to Hurricane Sandy Victims

Adelle Platon / November 13, 2012

The east coast is impervious to pain and loss. It has withstood Sept. 11, the 2003 blackout, the 2005 transit strike and recently, the disaster known as Hurricane Sandy. While some lost power, others lost their homes and unfortunately, loved ones. Still, we weathered the storm.

Now, VIBE Media is jumping into action by offering comfort the best way we can. Despite our offices being wiped out of electricity for a week, VIBE, VIBE Vixen, Uptown, and BlackBook pooled resources together for a great cause. The entire company sent the Milk Truck, famous for its grilled cheese sandwiches, and soups, in the Rockaways to provide comfort food to Sandy victims.

The truck is currently parked at Beach 129th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard, dishing out hot meals between noon and 4pm to people overcoming the struggles caused by Sandy. We encourage everyone capable to help out with relief efforts in anyway possible.

Thank you to everyone to who helped out!
