Tech N9ne, a Kansas City native with a rapid fire flow, is a self-proclaimed road hog. He's lived on the road pretty much his entire career. He formed his own label back in 1999, Strange Music Records, along with his partner Travis O'Guin. With several indie albums like, Killer, Sickology 101, K.O.D., and The Gates Mixed Plate, and his songs appearing in film and video games, Tech9Ne has definitely carved out his own place in hip-hop. He has sustained a cult following and says his wedding ring now represents how he is married to his fans and chronicles this through his song “The Rain.” With co-signs from legendary MCs in the game, this year seems to be his year with his upcoming album All 6’s and 7’s, which features “Worldwide Choppers” which also has Busta Rhymes & Yelawolf, The Deftones (“If I Could"), as well as, Lil’ Wayne & T-Pain (“Fuck Food"). Killer Mike stepped onto the music scene back in 2000 with fellow ATliens Outkast on the Grammy award winning song “The Whole World”, off Kast's Stankonia album. From there, Mike dropped his debut album in 2003 entitled Monster which yielded singles “Akshon!,” and the very popular “A.D.I.D.A.S.,” with guest features from Big Boi and Sleepy Brown. He didn’t drop another solo album until 2006 with I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind and with that album also had a new independent label situation with Grind Time and continued to drop a part two to Pledge as well as Underground Atlanta. Between the albums, Mike has been holding it down with movie roles in Idlewild and ATL, along with countless features with artists such as Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, 8Ball & MJG, and Chamillionaire to name a few. Killer Mike recently just signed a joint venture between Grind Time and Grand Hustle (T.I.’s label) and dropped a video and single for “Ready Set Go” feat. T.I. ,as well as the remix feat. Big Boi. His forthcoming album PL3DGE is due out on April 19th. Also, Mike can be seen out on the road with label mate Young Dro for the “Grind and Hustle” tour, which will be heading to a city near you beginning on April 1st.
