Post-R&B band Bad Rabbits hop in a time machine for their retro new video "Doin' It," premiering here on VIBE.com.
The uptempo video, directed by KarmaloopTV's Shomi Patwary, finds the Boston troupe trekking back to the disco era. The visual is the follow up to "Fall in Love," the second single from the group's debut album, American Love.
“'Doin’ It' is an aggressive booty-shaking, boogie joint," said drummer Sheel Davé. "[Patwary] had this idea to make it dreamy and intergalactic, but to capture the essence of the song we wanted to shoot a ‘70s porn director’ vision with a girl-version of Bad Rabbits. We try not to take ourselves too seriously and we wanted to reference some of our favorite comedy movies, so that’s where the characters and names came from."
Patwary imagined a trippy, intergalactic visual once he heard the song, "like Soul Train meets 2001 A Space Odyssey," he says.
American Love will be released on May 14.
