Baltimore club trailblazer Blaqstarr is making a long-awaited return to the spotlight. Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint did a little crate digging and shook off the dust bunnies from four records circa the Superstar ages. The tunes have undergone studio surgery and are fully revived complete with fresh mixing and mastering. So put on your Kangol and get ready to relive “Hands Up Thumbs Down,” “Lemme Hump U,” “Feel It In The Air” and “Slide To The Left.” We can also expect a three-song EP titled ‘Trinity’ from Blackstarr alongside brand new Baltimore Club EP coming this spring.

“Blaqstarr was the first US artist I released on Mad Decent,” says Diplo. “He might have been one of the reasons I started the label. Bmore club was this faceless, crazy, frenetic and scary dance music, not unlike the city itself. I thought Blaqstarr was the real star of this world.”

Lay your ear to Blaqstarr’s melodic yet gripping “Dear Diamond,” featuring fresh lyrics from hip-hop’s Chi-town golden MC, Common. We’ve got the video premiere for the song… it’s so tight you’ll feel like platinum.
