Viola Davis is a consistent worker in Hollywood, and if her latest role is indicative of her future, we will be seeing more star power from The Help's leading lady.
Michael Mann is currently rounding up the big players to put in front of his untitled film which is shooting in China. With the cameras set to roll, the cyber crime thriller is the latest juicy role that has caught Viola Davis' eye. The Mann-penned thriller already has Chris Hemsworth attached to star. The director has been keeping his cards close on this one in hopes to get the film made properly.
The plot finds American and Chinese forces working together to stop a case of high-level computer hacking. If The Help star makes the deal, she will play an FBI agent in the ensemble picture.
After dipping into the pages of history with 2009's Public Enemies, Mann returns for a solidly topical trope for this one, especially with hacking big in the news and still trending. Sounds like the critically acclaimed filmmaker is building another great picture. Davis was most recently seen in Beautiful Creatures. This year, cinephiles can look forward to seeing her talented skills in The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby, His and Hers and Ender's Game, which is set to land in theaters this fall.
