Was Robert De Niro Right In Calling Jay-Z 'Rude'?!

Tribeca neighbors, Robert De Niro and Jay-Z allegedly had a heated verbal exchange at a recent birthday party for Leonardo DiCaprio. Details after the break.

The "Silver Lining Playbook" actor apparently didn't appreciate the Roc Nation head honcho failing to return his phone calls and confronted hi during the bash. Sources reporting to the New York Post say that De Niro was equally upset that Jay-Z had not followed through on a song he had agreed to record for the most recent Tribeca Film Festival.

The source explained, "Bob was sitting at a table, and when Jay-Z went over to say hello, De Niro told Jay that he never called him back." Telling the Brooklyn Nets owner, "If somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn't matter who you are, that is just rude."

Making matters more interesting is the report from the source that Jay tried to use his stellar sense of humor to "joke" his way out of the awkward situation, and even his wife, Beyoncé, tried to intervene, but De Niro wouldn't back down. Near the end of the night, party goers were remarking that there's only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that is Robert De Niro. "He can be quite scary when he's angry," the source tells the New York Post.

DiCaprio's birthday shindig, which took place at The Darby, was also attended by famous friends Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock, Jonah Hill, Mark Ruffalo, Emma Watson, Edward Norton and Leo's "Django Unchained" co-star, Jamie Foxx, and raised $3 million for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
