Funny business aside, Eddie Murphy is no stranger to music. Back in the ’80s, the Nutty Professor star scored big with his Rick James-produced hit “Party All The Time.” Now, Murphy is switching his act up. The comedian vet has decided to team up with Snoop Dogg Lion to release the reggae track “Redlight.” The video shows the duo rocking in the studio in the name of peace as the actor sings on the hook: “(Gone) Emancipation/ (Gone) Race relation/ (Gone) Most of the rebels are gone/ (Gone) The trust in nation/ (Gone) The time we’re wastin’/(Gone) The people’s patience is gone” and even name-drops activists Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr..
