Eminem appeared on ESPN's Saturday Night Football halftime show last night to promote his new single "Berzerk" off MMLP2, the album he is dropping this fall. Starting next week, Em's track will be the intro to the college football program.
Things got a little awkward during his live interview with announcers Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit, who premiered the trailer for the "Berzerk" music video, officially dropping on Monday, Sept. 9. While the video preview hinted at appearances from Rick Rubin, Kendrick Lamar and Slaughterhouse, it's Em's video interview that's making headlines.
When asked what he was most excited about on his new LP, Em awkwardly replied, "Um, nothing. No, when it’ll be out Nov. 5, I’ll probably be most excited to be done with it. It’s called Marshall Mathers II. It’s kind of a revisit to the first Marshall Mathers album?"
Eminem then spit some knowledge on his favorite football team, the Detroit Lions, after being asked to predict their game on Sunday night. "I don't ever make a prediction on the Lions 'cause I don't ever want to jinx it, but I'm a such a diehard Lions fan, to the core .... so, yes, they'll win." He ended his appearance with kind words for Musburger, even joking that he was "really uncomfortable right now."
Marshall Mathers LP 2 drops Nov. 5.
