It's hard to find good news these days. Hundreds of girls were kidnapped in Nigeria last month, a 60-year-old man was shot in a drive-by shooting in Harlem this week, while countless other senseless acts of violence and tragedy flood the primetime news every night. But here's something we can all smile about.
Last March, YouTube star MagicofRahat, known for his viral online pranks, tricked a homeless man, named Eric, into thinking he won the lottery and gave him $1,000. After Eric broke down and insisted on sharing the wealth, the Internets were so moved by his response that they donated $44,000 to a fundraiser in his name.
Rahat, who boasts over 3 million YouTube followers, then decided to use the campaign money to buy Eric a new home, complete with furniture and utilities for a year. He pulls another trick by having Eric tag along on a trip to "Rahat's house", only to find that the home is actually his. Watch the prank that started it all and Eric's surprise welcome party below.
