Metallica and IMAX could have worked together about 15 years ago, but interestingly enough, they combine their forces for this unusual hybrid film starring actor Dane DeHaan.
Titled Metallica: Through The Never, the hard rock legends join The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Dane DeHaan in this film writted and directed by Nimród Antal (2010's Predators). Half concert movie and half fictional feature film, DeHaan plays a crew member who gets handed an urgent task from the band during a gig — which results in life-changing results.

Metallica confirmed their big screen intentions way back in January 2012, but gave away nothing else at the time. Bob Berney, president of distributors Picturehouse, told The Wrap: "Nim and the band have made a film that really captures the spirit of Metallica and their millions of loyal fans. It's an entertaining genre film with a concert inside it, a fun ride featuring an exciting young actor in Dane DeHaan."
A UK release date has not yet been announced, but American audiences can rage out watching Metallica: Through The Never when it opens in IMAX 3D on September 27 before hitting regular cinemas on October 4.
