A new story trailer for the game reveals that Injustice: Gods Among Us is a little less Superfriends and a whole lot more Blade Runner.
The premise of the game's plot does sound like it would make for an interesting comic book story. After the Justice League fails to prevent the crazy Clown Prince of Crime from detonating a nuclear device in Metropolis, DC's superheroes start to assert direct control over the populaces they inhabit to ensure such disasters never happen again.
Years later, a faction within the League begins to realize that they've gone too far, putting them at direct odds with the Man of Steel and Wonder Woman's totalitarian regime. The new "insurgency" movement involves Batman, Flash, Lex Luthor, and Harley Quinn banding together to enact a bold plan to set things right.
Rather than just talk things out like gentlemen, fans of Injustice: Gods Among Us will be excited to learn that DC Comics' most iconic characters -- including the newly revealed Bane, Hawkgirl, and two alternate versions of Deathstroke and Batman -- have stepped up to fight to the finish to settle their differences.
Brought to you by the good folks at Nether Realm, it looks like this fighting game is one to have on your wish list when it hits stores on April 19, 2013.
