Originally dubbed The Returned, ABC has ordered episodes of the Omar Epps-starring vehicled which has now been re-named Resurrection.
Based on a novel by Jason Mott, Resurrection is about the lives of the people who are forever changed when their deceased loved ones return out of nowhere. The pilot, which was shot in Atlanta a few weeks ago, starts with on very special and somewhat magical little boy, who is found 32 years after his drowning death and returned home to the front step of his confused parents.
ABC is placing the show in a "limited series" category when it makes its debut, but who else could see returns from deceased family members? Watch the trailer for yourself below:
While Resurrection is the first ABC show in ages to shoot locally since the short-lived rom-com October Road in 2007, the show Resurrection will have a short full season and will not be placed on the ABC fall lineup. In addition to Omar Epps, Sam Hazeldine, Nicholas Gonzalez, Mark Hildreth, Kurtwood Smith, Samaire Armstrong and Landon Gimenez will also star in the haunting program.
Resurrection will make its way onto ABC, Sunday nights at 10 p.m. mid-season 2013-2014.
