Pharell’s 41st birthday was capped off last night with a a live performance on Saturday Night Live. Taking to the stage to perform his smile-inducing chart-topper “Happy,” the super-producer rocked a custom G I R L adidas track jacket and his now-signature mountain hat while backed by a group of young dancers.

Later in the show, Pharrell returned for his first live rendition of his new single “Marilyn Monroe,” this time with an all-female string orchestra directed by his Despicable Me 2 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 score collaborator, composer Hans Zimmer.
