The first Purge movie was such a success that Universal would've been remiss to not turn it into a franchise. The first trailer for the sequel has just dropped and is a must-see.
Entitled The Purge: Anarchy, the new movie promises more devilish goodness and, well, a full night of evil intentions playing out on the big screen in general.
Rather than continuing to focus on a family trapped inside a locked home, as what happened in the original, the sequel finds at least a portion of the story here dealing with a nice-looking couple having their car breakdown on the wrong day. Finding a way through the day of the annual purge isn't all that is ruining this couple's day, as the people in crazy mask aren't the only things to be wary of.

Universal makes sense to expand the world they've created, but is there a larger comment being made about our own country or is it subjective? James DeMonaco, who wrote and directed the original, returns for the sequel. If the trailer is any indication of what to expect, you can be sure there's a whole lot more bloodshed and incredulous horror to arrive when The Purge: Anarchy arrives in theaters on June 20th.
