Earlier this month, rapper Trinidad Jame$ proved that all that glitters isn’t necessarily gold after announcing he had been dropped by Def Jam.

“I should tell yall. I got dropped by the Label. My Album is now free. If u hear ur beat or verse on it. I hope u want dap cuz i got no money,” the Atlanta rapper wrote on Twitter (Aug. 2).

In a recent sit down with Revolt TV, Jame$ spoke on a positive note about life after Def Jam.

“All the inspiration for me is kinda like I’ve been the ups, I’ve been the downs,” he said. “But I’ve been a lot of places and I’ve got a lot of love … And for me, I’m just focusing on the people who actually show me love.”

ATL’s gold aficionado has a new mixtape slated to drop Sept. 23.
