It was NBC anchor AJ Clemente's first day on the job at a North Dakota news station when he uttered some pretty explicit words unfit for a live broadcast.
As his co-anchor Van Tieu opened up the evening broadcast, Clemente can be heard saying "fucking shit" into the microphone by mistake before fumbling through the rest of his segment.
It was a short stint for the rookie newsman as the station suspended him after.
Tieu then offered an apology on his behalf. "We were caught off guard and [Clemente] didn't realize his microphone was on. And while that was no excuse - we do train our reporters to always assume that any microphone is live at any time - unfortunately we cannot take back what was said. But, we do apologize and hope that you may forgive us and rest assured, that something like this will not happen again."
AJ Clemente later tweeted he was sorry. "Tough day, thanks for the support, we all make mistakes," he wrote. "I'm truly sorry for mine. I'll try my hardest to come back and better from this."
Some lessons are learned the hard way. Watch his on-air blunder above.
