LeBron James will officially be a free agent on July 1. Recent reports have him going to the Chicago Bulls and possibly hobknobbing with the Knicks this week. But the Knickerbockers can only hope Bron Bron plants his 6'8 frame in the Big Apple. With his contract with the Cavaliers quickly expiring, everyone's been speculating about the Akron phenom's next best move. What are his best chances for a championship? VIBE phoned in a few entertainers from across the nation to get their Stuart Scott on. Where does he go from here?
I’m actually close friends with LeBron. I’m not sure where he’s going to go. That’s a very personal decision. I know he was onstage with me in Cleveland and he was rapping for like half my show [Laughs]. But wherever he goes that’s a blessed team. Man, don’t let him come to the Toronto Raptors. People don’t want that to happen. That would be a problem.
REPS: THE BRONX
I don’t think LeBron’s coming to the Knicks. People are just talking. But give me Amare Stoudamire, Steve Nash and Tony Parker and I’m not mad [Laughs]. Seriously though, I don’t see it happening. It would be incredible even though I probably wouldn’t be able to get tickets to games if he came to the Knicks. LeBron is the truth.”
REPS: COMPTON, L.A.
LeBron should come play for the L.A. Clippers. Man, think about it. Just think what that would do for LeBron James, the legend. If he came to L.A. and made the Clippers the bomb…wow, no one would ever think of doing that shit! Because the Lakers own L.A. But all you have to remember is the time the Clippers went further into the playoffs than the Lakers. Los Angeles was happy…people were not hating. They automatically switched to cheering for the Clippers. All you heard was, ‘Yeah…Clippers!!!’ Lebron would automatically become the biggest basketball player on the planet because he would have made a losing team into a giant. He did something with this shit…He would do something unthinkable! That’s how you change a culture. Playing for a winning team that’s already winning is just adding to the culture. Playing for a losing team and making it a winner? Who has the balls to do that?
