Watch out Avicii and David Guetta. You have some new competition and it’s a bunch of Legos. Alex Allmont, a full-time coder, part time Ph.D, and full-fledged Lego enthusiast premiered his complex Lego machine entitled Play House. Originally meant for an experimental music festival, AudioGraft, Play House has become a viral success on video streaming site, Vimeo, with over 300,000 views. You would think Legos wouldn’t make a great music maker but in fact, the song featured below is mesmerizing.

The machine triggers drumbeats and samples on a Roland TB303, best known for its use in the 80s. If you think this looks complicated, this wasn’t even Allmont’s original plan. It was intended to be even more complicated. To see more on how Alex Allmont created this beast of a machine, see below.
