Will The Next 'Hulk' Movie Be Based On 'Planet Hulk'?

Still basking in the afterglow of that Iron Man 3 trailer? Marvel seems to be on the verge of giving out nerdgasms all throughout 2013. See for yourself after the jump.

According to a new rumor from Latino Review, the Green Goliath may finally get the love that he deserves when it comes to his solo movies. With a healthy heap of projects to fill theaters for the next few years, Bruce Banner will take his talents from The Avengers and take them into outer space.

** SPOILER ALERT AHEAD **

A source close to production apparently told the website that the sequel will end with Hulk being exiled into a far, far away galaxy by the movie version of The Illuminati, which in the comics was comprised of Iron Man, Namor, Professor X, Black Bolt, Dr. Strange and the Black Panther.

In the story, Hulk lands on an alien planet and is forced into endless gladiatorial games on his way to liberating the planet's people from a cruel emperor. This will all unfold during a solo Hulk movie that adapts the comic.

But for those who are already in the know, does moving forward with Planet Hulk mean that Earth's Mightiest Heroes are making room for anew team member? We don't know if any of this is true, but the possibilities are intriguing, to say the least.
