It's will.i.am and Britney, bitch!
The Black Eyed Peas leader tells Billboard that he's on board to executive produce Britney Spear's eighth studio album. Fans can expect the Femme Fatale singer to be more revealing in her new songs as will.i.am plans to get her to open up like never before. “I said, ‘Let’s talk about things you’ve done in you career, what you’re happy about. Let’s talk about spending time with your kids, let’s talk about your breakup. Let’s talk about how now you’re single, how independent you might feel.’ We started talking about all that stuff. So I said, ‘do you mind if I write this down? I don’t mean to impose but I want to interview you.’”
One thing's for sure, the #willpower man says he isn't looking to damage Britney's image by helping her produce songs that “come from her heart." "I don’t want to let her down," he says about respectfully protecting Britney's brand. "I just want to do it the way a brand would do it. They wouldn’t say, ‘Take this. Put it out.’ That’s not what you would do. You’d come up with a mood board, the logos, the font, all the other stuff."
Working with Britney has been the BEP frontman's most challenging task yet, he says. “We’ve had these juicy sessions, where we’ve been bonding, building the trust and comfort. I’ve never worked like this before — not even the Peas.”
Their recording sessions begin next week (May 20), so fans can look forward to a new Spears album before the year is out.
