Video: Women in India Beat Politician Accused of Rape

Street justice was recently taken against a politician in India accused of raping a woman.

In a video clip captured in India's Assam state, the man shown being beaten up by crowds of people in a village, including women. The victim's husband stepped forward to authorities this past Thursday.

The politician was suspended and now faces criminal charges for his actions. But he was first handed a beating from citizens seeking their own justice.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi told the BBC his action was “condemnable” and he should be punished.
