YG Says His Music Isn’t Ratchet It’s Classic
With the recent release of his debut album My Krazy Life, 2014 has definitely been incredible for Compton rapper YG. Keeping the sound waves buzzing with his hits like “My N*gga,” “Left Right,” and “Who Do You Love,” it’s safe to say that YG’s debut album will gain him even more new fans and positive attention of the creativity that was put into the album. The album gives listeners a view into YG’s life and the ups and downs and struggles that he encounters on an everyday basis. From girl problems to typical stories about the street life, YG pretty much opens up and even admits to stealing from his mom in a track dedicated to her.
“I don’t feel like it took so long,” says YG when asked why it took him years to drop an album. ” I feel like I did what I was supposed to do because with an album I’m the type of person I don’t want to look bad.”
My Krazy Life has hot features from Drake, Schoolboy Q, to Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar and more. Not very happy with people always classifying his music as “ratchet,” YG instead feels like his music is more classic than anything. Check out the video above.
