It’s a sad day for the TV world. Yvette Wilson, famous for her recurring roles on both Moesha and its spinoff The Parkers, has passed away at 48 years old after losing her battle with cervical cancer.

It’s being reported that earlier this morning, Wilson succumbed to her struggle with Stage 4 Cervical Cancer. She previously sought financial assistance from fans to pay her growing medical bills. She was also in need of a kidney transplant.

As fans, friends, and loved ones are expressing their hurt all around the Internet, close friend and former Moesha co-star Shar Jackson is handling it rather roughly.

She recently tweeted, “F*ck Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh God. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken. I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but God has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.”

With addition to the two pioneering shows for urban television, Yvette has also starred in movies like Poetic Justice, Friday, and a hilarious scene in Don’t Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood.

Our prayers are with her family and loved ones, and anyone grieving for her loss.
