Mary J. Blige To Receive VLegend Award

VIBE magazine and UPN today announced that Ciara, Ludacris, Pharrell, Young Jeezy, Keyshia Cole, as well as David Banner, Paul Wall and Lil Wayne with a special Hurricane Katrina tribute, are among the star-studded lineup of hip-hop and R&B artists scheduled to perform at the third annual VIBE AWARDS ON UPN, to be broadcast Tuesday, Nov. 15 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

VQueen of R&B and Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige will receive this yearÕs VLegend Award, which recognizes lifetime achievement.

Additional award show presenters and performers will be announced shortly.

The two-hour special event dedicated to celebrating innovation, cutting-edge presentation, and genre-expanding work in urban music will be taped on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Sony Studios in Culver City, Calif.

The third annual VIBE AWARDS ON UPN is a production of VIBE magazine, Flavor Unit Television Entertainment, and White Cherry Entertainment. For VIBE, Kenard Gibbs and Mimi ValdŽs are executive producers. Shakim Compere and Queen Latifah are executive producers for Flavor Unit, and Dedra Tate is supervising producer. Emmy AwardÐwinners Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry are executive producers. Audrey LaCatis serves as the showÕs talent executive. The special will be directed by Glenn Weiss.
