I didn't even notice that AZ wasn't in this. He is the legit best rapper alive. I didn't see Jada either. Oh well, I guess it was a good thing they left them off to make room for such great talents like Webbie and Lil Mama.....

this bracket is absolutely despicable. the rankings are about as accurate as the real ncaa basketball tourney brackets. joe budden is at worst a 4 seed, and the only reason he's possibly that low is because of the raw deal he got from one of the 1 seeds and other "higher powers" within the hip hop industry. if he ever gets a fair shake at things, i see top 5 dead or alive in his future....No styles p? ridiculous. 8 seed boosie vs. 9 seed webbie? are they serious? so these dudes are better than joey, crooked i, cassidy, etc? what is going on with music these days? this bracket just shows that hip hop might not be dead, but the people "running" the game are definitely brain dead. but it is what it is, everything will eventually come full circle and hip hop will breath freely again.....WELL ALRIGHT!!!

they some of the realist ni**as in the game, spittin the truth..also LL & DMX, umm KRS-One, Rakim, where are they, i havent seen a RIP for them, LL is bout to put out his 13th album, what does that say?..he;s been making hits since ni**as like Lil Wayne was an embryo, Lil Wayne shouldn't win just for the fact he just blew, he knew that he had a album called 500 Degreez?..uhh no one, and he's a gimmick, Tha Carter II is his best album, not 3..and Souljah Boy isnt a rapper, just a bad dancer, and why the f**k is Joe Budden #15?..so ur saying he's right next to souljah boy..he is most def top 5 in any bracket, VIBE, you need to get ya**ittogether and re-do this list, and just asking, why is Pimp C have a bracket, Big L was a better choice for it, but Nas & Joe Budden in the 1st round, thats f**ked up, Nas is one of the G.O.A.T.S and Joe is a pure monster, did you hear the track WHO..is obviously ripped the whole rap game apart, but the person who should win this is either Jadakiss most def, he hasnt made one thing that was wack, best rapper out period, Nas, Joe Budden, Lupe or Eminem...VIBE YA ASS, Horrible List right next to MTV's List, "MTV made a list of the hottest MC's & Ignored The Nicest"-Joe Budden

Yeah, Rakim is alive, but how can he be the best rapper alive in this moment of time, if he isn't rapping? Maybe he is rapping on the low, but its nothing definitive. It's two sides to everything, they could have put Rakim, Kool G. Rap, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One etc, in the tournament, but don't tell me you wouldn't have been mad if they got elminated by a rapper that you know that their head and shoulders above and better than. Those guys don't need to be included in this tournament to validate their greatness and impact on Hip Hop.

I see what the guy below is saying, but it's called Best Rapper ALIVE. Rakim is alive. G Rap is alive and dropped an album this year. Why are there artists on the list who wouldn't be in anyone's top 100?

This list is some nonsense. How are you gonna have Soulja Boi, Missy Elliot, Lil Mama, Webbie, etc on a list for the best rapper alive? Who put this list together? They should be fired. Where is Rakim? Where is Kool G Rap? Did whoever made this start listening to rap yesterday?

Another horrible thing about this is the matchups. Don't insult our intelligence by giving the rappers seeds when we can all obviously tell that it's rigged. Talib vs Mos Def, Ghost vs Chef, 50 vs Joe, Banks vs Buck, females vs females (including Kanye)....yeah those all must have been coincidence.....

Y'all should find someone who knows a thing or two about hip-hop and re-do this whole thing

Alot of you people need to stop trying to turn this into something that it's not. Is this the greatest rappers of alltime? No. So that's why I don't really have a problem with some of the old school rappers being left off this list. Take for example Rakim who is damn near in everybodies top 5, how would you put him in a tournament like this and he hasn't dropped any new music in the new millenium? Then if he lost to a rapper that was far more inferior to him, y'all would be even more pissed off. Some of you, however have a legitmate gripe about certain rappers being left off the list like LL Cool J, DMX amongst others because they're still trying to do their thing and their still somewhat relevant. I would like an explanation on how Vibe decided which rappers were included, and how they determined the match ups because some of them are downright terrible.
