Warner Helped 'Dark Knight Rises' Box Office Results Stay Private

Warner Helped 'Dark Knight Rises' Box Office Results Stay Private

VIBE Posted July 23, 2012

Over the weekend Warner Bros. let the public know they made the decision to hold off on official box office results for the The Dark Knight Rises.

Most major Hollywood studios supported the decision and continue to stand by the families of the victims from the horrific Aurora, Colorado shooting during the opening screening.

Sony, Fox, Disney, Universal, Fox, and Lionsgate have all joined Warner Bros. in helping keep the numbers confidential through the weekend.

However, there are a handful of publications and websites putting their estimates out there.

The film’s premiere was cancelled in Paris and Batman-related events in Mexico City and Tokyo were also postponed.

The official numbers could be made public later today.
